Meet the Builder

Derek is a 5th generation Texas native, whose roots go back in the Kerrville area since 1856. Derek's third great grandfather, Balthasar Lich, was a millwright from Germany who was petitioned by Captain Charles Shreiner to help build and operate the first sawmill in what would eventually become Kerrville. Since then, Derek's family has been involved in the construction industry. As a boy, Derek helped his father with remodeling, building furniture, and installing custom trim.

 

Since beginning his journey with home construction, Derek has continued to pursue advanced education. He has been awarded the Graduate Master Builder, Certified Green Professional, and Certified Aging in Place Specialist designations from the National Association of Home Builders. Derek is committed to each home he builds and can often be found on the building site overseeing the project.
